Kanji and Lanaya in: Teh Hall of Trials!

Kanji looked at the entrance to the Hall of Trials with a blank expression on his face. This would be one of the first times he had actually put his skills to the test against an enemy that had no care for his safety. He raised his arms and leaned back, stretching out his upper body and letting out a sigh of relief once he had finished. He patted his belt and counted out all 15 of his throwing knives and a roll of wire that he had meticulously rolled so that he could use it for all 15 knives. "Hmm... Lana should be hear any sec now. Wonder what's takin so long?" He was silent for a moment, as if he expected someone to answer him. He sat down on the ground and hunched forward, letting himself get comfortable. He yawned loudly and closed his eyes. "Maybe I'll just knock out a few Z's while I'm waitin..." In a few seconds he had drifted off to sleep.

Lanaya was running full tilt. .45 in her hand, loading bullet into bullet into the cylinder as she ran. As she got closer to the entrance she saw Kanji laying on his ass at the entrance. She smiled but thought it was her duty to wake him up. OPEN THOSE EYES!! Launching into the air she performed a double axle flip and extended her left leg to land directly on his gut. KICK!! She was at least 20 feet in the air, falling so fast that she might actually kill him with this kick. He was a tough kid.. he could take the impact.

Kanji was about to start a dream when he heard a voice. It sounded loud but yet so distant. His body started moving on its own and suddenly he sound himself laying on the ground, with Lana standing over him. His body took a few seconds to register the amount of pain that had just been delivered to him and hit like a train when he finally registered what had happened. "Oh... Hey Girly." He slowly stood up and rubbed his gut with his right hand. He had a pained expression on his face but didn't seem to be that surprised or angry about what had happened. "Kill me before the monsters do why don'tcha?" He mumbled as he regained his composure. He patted Lanaya's shoulder and smiled "Ready to go yet?" Without waiting for a response, he walked towards the entrance and stood just outside the Hall of Trials for a moment. "So... Ladies first?"

Lanaya rubbed the bottom side of her leg as she followed Kanji to the entrance of the Temple of Doom. She heard the Chivalrous 'Ladies First' and smiled. Crossing the threshold she drew her Ranger and held it in her right hand as her .45 stayed secure in her left. So I heard this dungeon was like totally hard. Like Class 5 up in this bitch. As she looked into the once dark, now fully lit dungeon she saw a glob of goo rushing at her. Spinning her Ranger she emptied both barrels into the creature, which promptly evaporated. The game is afoot... With a bright smile on her face she made sure to reload both of her guns, quickly as she always did after each kill. Kind of like an impulsive habit.

Kanji felt a rush as he entered the Hall and watched Lanaya take out the first monster. "Game huh? Guess that does make things more appealing." He grabbed one of his throwing knives and pulled it from his belt, spinning it around a few times. He saw a trio of Gremlins with sticks in hand being followed by a goo creature. "Maybe you killed that goo's besty?" He pulled out two more throwing knives and threw all three at one of the gremlins. With his open hand, he pulled out another throwing knife and quickly applied a coat of poison to it. He spun the knife over his head by the string and then threw it forward with much greater speed than the previous three and sent into the leg of one of the gremlin's legs, which caused the gremlin to trip and fall face first onto the ground. He felt considerably more relaxed than he had in a while and had a wide smile on his face as he finally let his skills get some practice.

He jumped back as the unscathed gremlin moved to swing and glanced over at Lana. "Heeey Buddy, wanna help a teamy out?" He asked casually as the gremlin swung at him again. He caught the stick with one of the wires from a throw knife and the two stared at each other, Kanji's face playful and free, the gremlin's looking incredibly pissed and its eyes full of fury.

OoC: 3 focus points went into killing one gremlin. A fourth Focus point went into Withering Strike on a seperate gremlin.

Lanaya watched what seemed like an incredibly funny situation, between Kanji and the Gremlins. Raising her Ranger, she quickly aimed her .45 down towards the ground and putting 2 bullets in it, watching it evaporate. Lanaya fired one barrel of her ranger into the gremlin's head, splattering some of it's goo on Kanji's head. Spinning around she dropped her .45 into it's holster as she drew her dagger. Doing a cartwheel she closed the gap on the final Gremlin and cut it's Achilles Tendon, making it crumple over. Rising with her blade, she cut a smooth swath from the top of it's groin to it's neck. It's stick fell to the ground as it showed a peculiar face. One of fear mixed with pain. Raising her Ranger she fired her remaining barrel through it's chest, opening the gash she made and ending it's life. Reloading her Ranger, she crouched down to the gremlin and picked up the stick it had been using as a weapon. Placing it in the pack on her back, she walked over to another stick and did the same thing. Come on... we're not done yet. Striding forward to the next room she had a stoic expression as she reloaded her .45.

Kanji, while impressed with how Lana had taken out the gremlins, was now more concerned with the goo he felt on his head. He wiped what he could off with his hand and then yanked the wires of his knives to catch them. He ran a few steps to catch up to Lana with a smile on his face. "Thanks for the assist back there." As they entered the room, he found himself still looking at Lanaya and barely noticed the large number of creatures awaiting them. The room was considerably large than the hallway and it almost looked like a gremlin camp. Kanji glanced around the room and estimated around 8 gremlins, 3 dog like creatures leashed to a single ogre looking dude. He saw a few goo creatures hanging from the ceiling. It didn't take long after he tallied up a total of 4 goos for the three dogs to start barking a tugging at their chains.

Like a well trained unit of soldiers, the gremlins quickly organized themselves in front of the the ogre and charged forward. 4 of them had sticks and took the lead, charging forward like a short wall of spears while the 4 unarmed gremlins broke off in groups of 2 and came at Kanji and Lanaya from the sides. The ogre stood back and watched the gremlins charge with a dumb expression while the dogs continued to tug at their leashes, causing no visible effect on the ogre.

"That's... Way too many..." Kanji dropped his daggers and pulled out a flask with a fuse at the end. He lit a match and set the fuse. He then threw the flask at one of the gremlins charging with the sticks which hit directly, killing it and sending burning liquid on the gremlin adjacent to it, leaving only one gremlin armed with a stick unscatched. He ducked as the two gremlins coming at him from his side swung at him and then slid behind them. He hopped back up and tossed a throwing knife into the back of one of the gremlins.

OoC: So, I'm gonna go ahead and say that the ogre has a focus level of 8 and each dog has a focus level of 2. Kanji used 4 focus points with Pyro's Brew, killing one of the Gremlins with a stick and doing 1 focus point damage to the two next to it. Then I used the last focus point to do a focus point of damage to a regular gremlin.

Description: Kanji lights a fuse-like extension at the end of a flask and then throws it at the target. Upon impact, the fire ignites with the liquid inside and sticks to whatever surface it hits. This is dangerous the be hit directly with since the fire is difficult to put out and can burn for up to 2 posts.
